A Special Interest
Area (SIA) designation is primarily for providing recreational emphasis
for areas of special geological, bio-logical, or cultural values where interpretation
and public use is encouraged.
A Research Natural Area (RNA) is an ecological
unit set aside primarily for research and education and secondarily for the preservation of biodiversity.
